Due to the design of many running shoes today, the ability to run naturally is now completely dysfunctional. The elevated heel on certain shoe brands has turned many runners into habitual heel strikers. This puts immense stresses on the body, which in turn can cause a wide range of serious injuries. Technique and ability also play a part in this but the good news is, this can all be changed.
In order for you to progress as a runner, which you will most definitely not do if you just keep going out and pounding the pavements day after day, it’s really important that you get to grips with a few important factors. We offer natural running coaching sessions. We can coach you either as an individual, in pairs or in groups. We are also more than happy to travel anywhere in the UK to coach.
Natural Running Form workshops are both theory and practical based. They are led by Newton Running accredited coaches who will teach you all the natural running form essentials including: what makes good form, importance of elastic recoil, improving posture, increasing cadence, drills to promote good running, scope for change and conditioning exercises.
What Is Natural Running Form?
Run barefoot to discover your optimal running form and you’ll discover immediately that when you do so, you’re not landing on your heels. Instead you are landing on your mid-foot or fore-foot, which is the most natural way to run. This is also the fastest and most efficient method. Once you start running naturally you will see a marked improvement in a number of areas including: form, technique and efficiency, less injuries and improved running economy. You will also become much faster and improve on those race times.
We can deliver a workshop to you either as an individual, in pairs or in groups with a maximum of 12. We are also more than happy to travel anywhere in the UK to deliver a workshop.
